A member of the Estonian Writers’ Union, his most recent published translations include Kai Aareleid’s Burning Cities (Peter Owen Publishers 2018), contributions to New Baltic Poetry (Partian 2018) and The Butterfly Man and Other Stories by Mehis Heinsaar (Paper + Ink 2018), Deep in the Forest: 100 Estonian Fairy Tales (Varrak 2018), Rein Raud’s The Reconstruction (Dalkey Archive Press 2017), Mihkel Mutt’s The Inner Immigrant (Dalkey Archive Press 2017), and Raud's The Brother (Open Letter Books 2016). Several of his translations have been nominated for the Cultural Endowment of Estonia’s annual Prize for Literary Translation. Cullen’s debut bilingual poetry collection Lichen /Samblik (2016) was published in Tallinn by Näo Kirik. Originally from Minnesota, he has lived in Estonia for over ten years.

One of Matt's favorite books of 2017 was The Brother by Estonian author Rein Raud, was translated by Adam. Matt says of The Brother, "This is a spaghetti Western that would make Clint Eastwood proud. Dealing with fate, karma, mafiosos, and has one of the greatest opening scenes/character introductions I've read." This will be a very fun and engaging evening that you won't want to miss.
