Join SubText Books in the store on Wednesday, May 2nd at 7:00 PM for a preview event for Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theatre's upcoming production, "Matinee," a dance/theatre/film adaptation of American avant-garde novelist Robert Coover's New Yorker short story.
This spring, longtime Minneapolis based-performance company, Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theatre reprises their critically-acclaimed production of "Matinee," a dance/theater/film adaptation of American avant-garde novelist Robert Coover's New Yorker short story, created and co-directed by Artistic Co-Directors Stuart Pimsler and Suzanne Costello in collaboration with local filmmaker Andrew Welken.
Stuart often uses literature and text as a source of inspiration. "Matinee," in particular, draws heavily on the text by Robert Coover. As a preview for SPDT's performances, Stuart will speak on the challenges and rewards of shaping written word into performance for the stage. A discussion on the creative process of "Matinee" will follow.
*All attendees will receive a promo code to use for discounted tickets to SPDT's performances of "Matinee," May 11-13 2018 at the Cowles Center for Dance & the Performing Arts*
