Political Action Book Club--Tell Me How it Ends

Next up for our Political Action Book Club, we'll be reading a short but powerful essay by the brilliant Valeria Luiselli titled Tell Me How it Ends: An Essay in Forty Questions. This book tells the story of the many undocumented children who are picked up along the southern border. This book is a beyond essential, timely gut-punch, and it touches on many of the issues we discussed at our previous meeting, including the prison-industrial complex and the for-profit detention centers that scatter the south, and the nation.

In addition to discussing the book,* we'll also prepare questions to ask of prospective officials who will be vying for our votes during the St. Paul caucuses and conventions that will take place the following weekend.  Hopefully, we'll be able to provide the necessary tools for you to feel confident to challenge city officials on the issues you care about.

*This book club is focused on the discussion of political action. We use the book selection as a guide for our conversation, and reading the book is not a requirement for attendance. Having said that, this book is essential to your humanity and is highly recommended. (100 pages, $13)
