SubText celebrates its GRAND OPENING as the ONLY Downtown St. Paul Bookstore


SubText Books announces a Grand Opening at its new Downtown Saint Paul location. It will be the first full line, full service independent in Downtown in at least 20 years. The formal ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 11:00AM Friday June 26. Please help spread the good word.

Welcome will be extended by Mayor Chris Coleman, Council member Dave Thune, County Commissioner Rafael Ortega, State Legislator Carlos Mariani, Metro Independent Business Alliance President Chris Hanson and more. Saint Paul poet laureate Carol Connolly will read a poem.

Please join us as we add to the growth and development of Downtown Saint Paul. Coffee and cookies will be served. Food trucks will be nearby.

The week will be celebrated with numerous readings and performances:

Thursday June 25 6:30PM- LGBT reading with Jessie Chandler, Christina Glendenning, Rachel Gold (also writes as Rachel Calish) and Ellen Hart

Friday June 26 2PM- Irish mysteries, stories, and music with Erin Hart and Paddy O’Brien

Friday June 26 6:30PM- poetry by Thomas R. Smith and Timothy Young

Saturday June 27 3:00pm- poetry by Rich Broderick and Zoe Bird

Saturday June 27 5pm- poetry and merriment with Mike Finley and Danny Klecko

Sunday June 28 11am-2pm- Café Melange Music with Brian and Sheralyn Barnes

Monday June 29 6:30pm- Nodin Poetry Anthology contributors Sharon Chmielarz, Carol Connolly, John Flynn, Joyce Sutphen,and Dara Syrkin read their work

Tuesday June 30 5pm-  Tim Spitzack Reflections from the Riverfront: Essays on Life in the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area

Tuesday June 30 6:30pm- Story Circle Stories hosted by Rose McGee and Ann Fosco
