LGBT Reading with Jessie Chandler, Christina Glendenning, Rachel Gold, and Ellen Hart

Ellen Hart is the author of thirty-two crime novels in two different series.  She is a five-time winner of the Lambda Literary Award for Best Lesbian Mystery and a three-time winner of the Minnesota Book Award for Best Popular Fiction.  In 2010, Ellen received the GCLS Trailblazer Award for lifetime achievement in the field of lesbian literature.  For the past seventeen years, she has taught “An Introduction to Writing the Modern Mystery” through the The Loft Literary Center, the largest independent writing community in the nation. Ellen’s newest Jane Lawless mystery, THE OLD DEEP AND DARK, was released by St. Martin's/Minotaur in October, 2014.  THE GRAVE SOUL, the 22nd in the series, will be released in the fall of 2015.  Ellen lives in the Twin Cities with her partner of 37 years.

Jessie Chandler lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her wife and two mutts, Fozzy Bear and Ollie. In the fall and winter, Jessie writes, and spends her summers selling T-shirts and other assorted trinkets to unsuspecting conference and festival goers. The first book in Jessie’s new National Investigative and Protection Unit "Operation" series, Operation Stop Hate, is now out. Blood Money Murder, the fifth book in the Shay O'Hanlon Caper series, will be released late 2015, and the first book in her new "Art Thief" series has a tentative release in 2016. Raised on world mythology, fantasy novels, comic books and magic, Rachel is well suited for her careers in marketing and writing. She writes queer/trans young adult novels as Rachel Gold and under the name Rachel Calish writes lesbian paranormal romance. She’s worked for bookstores and comic book stores, high tech companies and a newspaper, in addition to flipping houses (very slowly). Her current gig is with the most awesome marketing firm in the country. A fan of games of all kinds, you can often find her playing everything from checkers to the latest video game releases. Find her online at www.rachelgold.com and on Twitter @rachelgold.

Christina Glendenning is an educator and writer who makes her home in the Twin Cities. Her 2013 The Rattlesnake Vote is a murder mystery set against the backdrop of the Gay Marriage Amendment. Searching for Gods that Deserve Us, 2014, is a collection of three related short stories. Two young women, separated by prejudice, reconnect for a second chance at love and marriage. They pay it forward by helping a depressed father come to terms with his gay son. Presently, she is working on a new novel and a writers’ workbook on Emotional Intelligence and the creative process. Visit her at ChristinaGlendenning.com
